Independent Learning Day

Description

In observance of the Great American Eclipse, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) will have an independent learning day for students and school-based employees on Monday, April 8, 2024. (Note: All 12-month district-level employees will report to their regularly assigned work locations.) The independent learning day activities will provide safe viewing and instructional opportunities to experience the partial solar eclipse. Although Georgia is not in the solar eclipse path, you will be able to see a partial eclipse, which is expected to begin at 1:45 p.m. and end at 4:21 p.m. Even with a partial eclipse, everyone must protect their eyes by wearing eclipse-viewing glasses.
